J4MW is run voluntarily by a group of dedicated activists. Every week we contribute hundreds of volunteer hours to this important cause. We finance our work through community fundraising events. J4MW organized a major fundraising night at El Mocambo on June 13th 2003. The proceeds of the night has sustained most of our outreach throughout the summer of 2003. However, we are seeking funding from progressive organizations or foundations that will sustain our work. We appreciate assistance in writing grant proposals and registering as a non-profit organization.

Your monetary donations are crucial and will be used responsibly. Our expenses mainly arise from outreach in rural communities which include vehicle rental fees and gasoline. We welcome individuals that can drive us with their vehicle to key areas in rural Ontario. Other costs relate to public awareness such as photocopying and website hosting fees. Following up with workers in the Caribbean and Mexico also requires the purchase of long-distance telephone cards.

We invite you to make a contribution. Make cheques payable to Justicia for Migrant Workers and send them to c/o Nicole Wall, 215 Spadina Ave., Suite 350 Toronto, ON Canada M5T 2C7.

We are also seeking office space, meeting space and donations in kind of all sorts.

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to contribute in the following areas:

Legal Aid (Labour and Immigration Law), Fundraising, Spanish Translation, Popular Education, Worker Involvement, Public Awareness, Media Strategy, Campaigns, Lobbying, Graphic Design, Organizational Development, Anti-opression Training and more.

Write to your local MP to denounce the treatment of migrant farm workers in Canda.
